The Hobbit Needs More (Michael) Jackson

Hi everyone! It's been a while. How's everyone doing? How am I doing? I'm great! I can't wait to watch The Desolation of Smaug! Two more days (12/13/13)! I'll be counting the minutes. In the mean time, to tie us over, here's a new video from the geniuses who brought us Freestyle Bane:

From the geniuses who brought us Freestyle Bane:
Auralnauts gives us the other version of "Misty Mountains Cold"

The Walking Dead Finale That I Wanted With CoCo

Conan O'Brien "Dead Yourself"
Hi everyone! If you've noticed, I've been away for a while. It was a combination of work and personal life that kept me away from blogging. In other words, it was procrastination. If you didn't notice, that's ok, no skin off your back or my back. We can all keep our skins!

What brings me back? My dissatisfaction with The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale. Oh man! What were they thinking? All that build up and no delivery. Season 3 started off with the vigorous shaking of the soda can... You shake and shake that soda can as hard as you can in the beginning. Then during mid season, you give it to your thirsty friend, "hey buddy, you thirsty?" The build up as he takes the shaken can... the tension as he lifts that tab... then the Finale! The pay off! And it fizzes... flat... nothing happens. In fact, he drinks the soda and then complains to you that it's bad soda. Fuck you Walking Dead Soda... fuck you...

Anyway, here's what I think would be a better finale. Maybe it's not but, Merle is alive and he shoots Andy:

Ok, maybe that wasn't the best candidate for The Walking Dead Finale because, of the lack of zombies. If you want Conan O'Brien interacting with zombies, there's also this:

Ok, maybe there are no Zombies in Resident Evil 6 either.

Darth Vader Voiced By Schwarzenegger

Hello Youtubes!
A bit of a silly post but I know a certain Master Jedi would've loved it. He was a dear friend whose impact still resonates. This one's for you SC. The Force will be with you always.

Game of Thrones Beatbox Opening by Sansa, Arya and Bran

Hello Youtubes!
The Kids playing Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams) and Bran Isaac Hempstead Wright) are all grown up now. They're no longer going to sing the Game of Thrones opening during their commentary for the Season Two video release. They've matured past that. Instead, we'll get:

The Walking Dead: Dumb Ways To Die

Hello Youtubes!
As you're going through today's marathon of the walking dead, you might notice that there are some pretty dumb deaths in the series. If only they followed Dr. Russell Fell's tips:
  • Run Slow Talk Low
  • I'm in the open? No!
  • Don't be lunch you stupid #$%@!
  • They're not magic, they're not supernatural, they're just dead folk
  • Don't Panic
  • Stay Quiet
  • Get Inside (get a Playstation)
  • Destroy the Brain

Well, as the saying goes: "You Can't Fix Stupid" but, you can definitely sing about it. Oh, I forgot!
SPOILERS!!!

BANE OUTTAKES

Hello Youtubes!
"I'm Bane, yes, that's my name.
Bruce Wayne and the Batman are totally the same.
I broke his back mortal comBAT smack,
then I cracked my '28 Krug champagne."

I had my doubts about this video when it was linked to me on Facebook. It started out ok and I had some chuckles but, I totally lost it after minute 2:25. I highly recommend checking this out. The sound mixing and voice over is amazing.

Doctor Who Series 7 Tonight!

A friendly reminder that Doctor Who Series 7 premiers tonight September 1, 2012! Both in the UK and the USA!!! It's been a LONG wait. In the USA, Doctor Who - Asylum of the Daleks will be on BBC America at 9pm EST.

The Series 7 promotions are pretty easy to find online. So, instead of featuring the Trailers and Pond Life here, let's jump further backwards in time to check out some comedy sketches that were included on the Curse of Fatal Death VHS.

Olympics XXX - London 2012 Nostalgia

The Summer Olympics are over! The Closing Ceremony happened on August 12th and I missed it. Not to worry, I DVR'ed it and will be watching NBC's crappy coverage when I get a chance. No need to get into NBC's unimpressive coverage here. I'm sure it's all over the internet. Like at the link below:

NBC Cuts The Who, Ray Davies, Muse From Olympics' Closing Ceremony Broadcast

For the Kate Bush Song that was cut check out this link:

Here’s the Kate Bush Song That Was Cut from the U.S. Broadcast of the London Olympics Closing Ceremony

Anyway... Yes! I think 2 days is long enough to garner a nostalgia post. Olympics XXX is in the past isn't it? What were some of the geeky things that happened during the 30th Olympiad? There were Mary Poppinses flying in to save the kids from their nightmares which had Voldemort in it:

Also, James Bond escorted the Queen to Olympics in a helicopter. And the queen sky dived into the stadium:

Mr. Bean also made an appearance:

If you're in the USA, you might have gotten some of the results of the Olympics spoiled for you before you get a chance to watch the NBC broadcast. John Stewart sympathizes:

The Daily Show Olympics Spoiler Alert

Here's something that probably wasn't spoiled for you because the networks didn't care much for this awesome geek performance of the 30th Olympiad:

Olympic Gymnast Uses Zelda Medley During Performance

My Awesome Sister is the Zelda Gymnast and Yes, She’s a Lifelong Gamer

That's not enough Olympics for you? Here's more. From Middle Earth. Hope this ties you over until Brazil 2016!

Happy 4th of July! (From The Twilight Zone)

Today, the U.S.A. is celebrating Independence Day with cook outs, going to the beach, fireworks and The Twilight Zone Marathon. Happy 4th of July! I'm sure they celebrate the 4th of July in the Twilight Zone as well.

For more information on today's TWZ Marathon check out my previous post:

I'm not going to leave you with just a link. Below is a video I found on youtube titled: TWILIGHT ZONE LOST EPISODE. It's a comedy sketch Rod Serling did parodying his own seires. I haven't found any information on it yet. If anyone has any facts or trivia about this episode, feel free to share!

Prometheus: Happy Birthday Joel!

I thought Prometheus' first David 8 promo video was creepy (Prometheus: More Promos!). This one gave me goosebumps. Check out Fassbender's David 8 crying without emotion at 1:20. No wait, that's not David! It's Joel McHale of The Soap and Community! Well, it's still creepy when Joel cries without emotion at 1:20:

What is Prometheus' flaw? Why do so many critics not like it? The biggest complaint is that it's like the TV show Lost. It introduces a lot of ideas and opens up a lot of mysteries but fails to answer them at the end of the film. In any case, I'm still super excited about Prometheus. I will be watching it this coming Friday (June 8, 2012) at the IMAX 3D. I know I will at least like the art direction and the cinematography... and Michael Fassbender... and Charlize Theron... and Idris Elba... and Noomi Rapace... There's a TV spot with TIme Magazine calling Promethues "The most anticipated event of the summer." I have to disagree with that one. What about The Dark Knight Rises? That's been anticipated since the release of The Dark Knight. No one cared for Prometheus at first and some people still thinks it's superfluous. Also, it's not summer yet! I guess Times Magazine is more excited than I am, they even forgot which season we're in.

Happy 35th Star Wars! And Batman Narrates...

35 years ago today, back in May 25, 1977, Star Wars premiered for the first time in theaters. Let's celebrate with some silliness. Voice actors Kevin Conroy (Batman), Billy West (Fry), Tara Strong (Bubbles), Rob Paulsen (Pinky), Maurice LaMarche (The Brain), John DiMaggio (Bender) and Jess Harnell (Wakko) does a reading of the Star Wars: A New Hope radio play as different characters. Mostly characters throughout their voice acing careers. Tara Strong does Darth Vader as Bubbles, John DiMaggio does Princess Leia as Jake the Dog, Rob Paulsen does Han Solo as Christopher Walken... you get the picture. Kevin Conroy is the only person who stays in the same character: Batman! The Dark Knight narrates Star Wars! The video is about an hr and a half long. Initially, I thought about just listening to the opening (when Darth Vader boards the Ambassador's Cruiser) and save the rest for later but I couldn't stop. So here's your warning, make sure you have an hr and half to spare before clicking on the video. And you may experience extreme stomach cramps, snorting, and/or farting from laughing too hard.

Doctor Who: RPG

This year Doctor Who Series 7 will be delayed until Autumn. It's just seems like something is missing when there's no Doctor Who on TV in April. Don't worry though, there are bunch of Time Lord and Time Lord related stuff on the internet to tie us over. Like this fantastic animation from CollegeHumor:

Waltz of the Force

Padme as the Sith Lord: "Black Swan"
What does the Ballet and Star Wars have in common? Natalie Portman I guess. But that's not the answer I'm looking for. Actually, there's not much in common unless... I take the Phantom Menace's light saber duel and mesh it with Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers..."

Thank you Tchaikovsky!
Thankovsky!

84th Oscar Night 2012

The one thing that I am looking forward to at the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday night, February 26, 2012 starting at 7pm EST is Admiral General Aladeen (Sasha Baron Cohen), The Dictator of Wadiya, showing up at the red carpet. Initially he was banned from showing up at the Oscars. Outraged, Admiral General Aladeen released this threat to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences:

According to latest news, the Academy lifted their sanctions and gave Admiral General Aladeen his tickets back:
Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator" alter-ego not banned from Oscars, producer Brian Grazer says

As for the nominees this year...
I don't have much of an interest in them. Mainly because I haven't watched most of the nominated movies. Here's the full list of the nominees on Wikipedia:
84th Academy Awards

I listed the movies I'd watched after the "JUMP!" along with some brief thoughts on their nominations.

Chocolate Salty Balls!

Hello Youtubes!
A friend of mine, Macdaniel Macleod, attended Katsucon in Washington D.C. this weekend (02/17/11-02/19/11) and cosplayed as Chef from South Park. He met up with a Gears of War cosplayer and... I'm not even going to bother explaining. Words does it no justice. Just watch the video:
